Safety and Security at Cayuga ISD

Dear Parents and Community Members,

The recent tragedy in Madison Wisconsin serves as a somber reminder of the critical importance of safety and security in our schools. We want to take this opportunity to assure our families that the safety of our students remains our highest priority.

Our district and schools have an updated Emergency Operations Plan that has been developed and thoroughly reviewed in collaboration with local law enforcement agencies. This plan is comprehensive and tailored to address various potential situations, ensuring that we are as prepared as possible to respond to a crisis.

In addition, all members of our staff have been trained in the specifics of this plan, and we conduct regular drills to ensure everyone understands their roles and responsibilities during an emergency. These drills are a vital component of our ongoing commitment to creating a safe learning environment for our students.

To further enhance security, our district has established specific protocols for entry to our campuses. We appreciate the continued understanding and cooperation of our parents as we strictly enforce these procedures to protect the wellbeing of our children and staff.

Thank you for your trust and support as we work together to maintain a secure and nurturing environment for our students.

Dr. Joe E. Satterwhite III (Jes)

Superintendent, Cayuga ISD
